3.5 Kg ovarian tumour removed



Panchkula: An ovarian tumour weighing three and half Kilogram was removed after surgery on a 57 years old woman in Alchemist Hospital Panchkula.
 Dr Ibha, Senior consultant Gynae & Obstetrics, Alchemist Hospital Panchkula, who performed the surgery said, that the patient presented with pain abdomen and loss of appetite. The diagnosis confirmed with ultrasound and CT scan, was that a huge ovarian tumour was occupying whole of the abdomen.
 Dr Ibha further added that normally ovary size is 3cm to 4cm but the tumour size was 22cmx25cms which could have ruptured and patient would have landed up in emergency.  She said that complications associated with huge ovarian tumor include malignancy and rupture of tumor.
Patient Saroj bala, belonging to Naryanagarh, now residing in Panchkula said that she was having pain abdomen and was not able to eat anything, but was unaware of this huge tumor. She underwent complete surgery of ovarian tumour, recovered well and was discharged after five days of surgery.
Saroj Bala’s son Pardeep Kumar said that they were very upset when they came to know about this huge tumor but with the expert surgical skills of Dr Ibha his mother recovered well. He further added that Dr Ibha is like God for us.
