Panchkula: A 35 year old man recovered well after a
complex heart Surgery in Alchemist Hospital recently. Patient Rajesh, resident
of Yamunanagar, was suffering with a potentially serious condition called
aortic aneurism (enlargement (dilatation) of aorta more than two times of
normal size) and severe Aortic regurgitation (Aortic Regurgitation is the
leaking of the aortic valve of the heart that causes blood to flow in the
reverse direction during ventricular diastole, from the aorta into the left
ventricle).
He underwent a
complex repair called Bentall surgery. The Bentall surgery entails replacement of
Aortic valve, aortic root and ascending aorta.
Surgery has been
performed by the team of doctors led by Dr Shashi Jindal (Senior Consultant
& Head of the Department of Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery) and Dr.
Shailesh Ojha, Senior Consultant at Alchemist Hospital Panchkula.
